The event is a national and international high-end platform, designed to showcase China's efforts to promote an expanded level of opening up of its economy to the outside world.

The outdoor exhibition area covers about 8,000 square meters. It is displaying the high-end equipment, core components and the high-tech achievements of leading enterprises in the province, including Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Shandong Energy Group and Haier.

The Qingdao economic and trade cooperation pioneering innovation experimental base – where the exhibition is taking place – is the first of its kind in the country.

It focuses on providing comprehensive enterprise service platforms to facilitate commerce and trade for the new Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership accord, or RCEP trading block.

RCEP is a trade agreement signed by 15 countries – including China – to form the world's largest trading bloc. Having come into force at the beginning of the year, the tariffs on goods traded among members have either been reduced to zero immediately or will be reduced gradually – with more than 90 percent of the goods in the bloc eventually having zero tariffs.

The Qingdao economic and trade cooperation pioneering innovation experimental base sets up various government services – such as certificates of origin ShenQian 10 centers – so that enterprises can provide one-stop services and also smooth the way for exhibitions.
